One of the nifty features of my G530 is to accept fuel quantity/flow data from my JPI EDM700 engine monitor and provide me with real time estimates of fuel remaining at future waypoints as well as final destination.
Will the 540 be able to do this? If yes, any special wiring, or will this happen via the "plug and play" tray insert process? Edited by phkmn - 07 Feb 2013 at 9:55pm |

You're in luck. It'll just work. No special wiring required. If, as in your case, the system is already connected to the back of the 530 tray, then you're all done.
We have a JPI EFD700 in our lab and verified the FMS uses the input to compute those fuels. |

Do you mean the JPI EDM 700? I hope so because our plane has one and I was planning on having it connected to the IFD540.

Right, my mistake.
EDM-700 and EDM-760 both work. |
