While not a huge priority, it would be great to have the ability to disable any advisory glide slope.

There are a lot of us that feel the advisory GS is an unnecessary distraction and even dangerous at times. And, it's not an approved GS, nor is it flight tested. However, I'll not get into the discussion of it's merits as it has been beat to death on other forums.

Would just like to put in a request for an option to disable it. Thanks.

Understood.  We've got it on the candidate list for IFD540.  Currently on the bubble for initial release.

One quick note - the IFD540 does not display glide slope anywhere on the unit.   We do supply glide slope data to any display (electronic or steam gauge) that is connected and configured to speak with the IFD540 and the specific feature that the 540 would implement to deal with this request is to send an "invalid" flag out with the glide slope data when the Advisory Glideslope data has been pilot-disabled on the IFD540.

That *should* have the effect causing the device that does display glide slope (e.g. steam gauge CDI, Aspen PFD, etc) to put up the particular "no glideslope" indicator that it has.

Since the regulatory guidance does not permit that on LPV or LNAV/VNAV or ILS approaches, this would really only apply to LNAV+V approaches.

Jake,

That's PERFECT!

Yes, I do understand about the LPV and LNAV/VNAV and ILS,  and of course, want the GS there.
