What is the correct sequence to enter destination airport with a arrival procedure and approach procedure.
I get 3 completely disconnected flight plans and have a hard time consolidating them. |

Not sure about arrival but I've never had a problem doing a plan to my destination and then putting the approach in....all fits together fine.

If you just add the approach it works fine.
Im having troubale with transitions arrivals +approach.
Case in Point if you use the ipad app plan CYLB to CYBW URPON 1 Arrival and Rnav rw16 |

URPON does not appear to be a SID into CYBW. That said, I do find that the IFD can sometimes get a bit perturbed with open termination SIDs. The VSR will not work, and you will always get a discontinuity to the approach (of course you should) -- but that you can usually close. CAPITAL arrival into CYOW is a one example of this, that I not infrequently fly. * Orest Edited by oskrypuch - 21 Sep 2016 at 8:22am |

There is no runway 16, either. There is a 17 instead. The simulator database is probably out of date.
In any case, you shouldn't just insert the arrival procedure immediately after the departure airport. You need to go from the departure airport to a fix on one of the arrival transitions, then insert the arrival after that. That will close the first gap. If the arrival terminates with a radar vector you should add the approach after it and select the vectors to final transition. A gap will appear between the two. It's supposed to be there. You'll get vectors and, when you're cleared for the approach, activate the vectors to final leg. That will make the approach the active leg. You can intercept and follow it inbound. Mike |
