This weekend I went DCU-HRJ-DCU, about 6.5 TT. The wifi worked fine for the first 6 hours; I had my iPad with Foreflight paired to it. About 30min from home, FF told me "ADS-B Disconnected" and, sure enough, I didn't see the IFD SSID on either my iPad or iPhone. I was able to connect both devices to my ancient Stratus 1, so there was nothing in the local environment blocking / jamming wifi signals.
After I landed, I power cycled the avionics, tapped "Allow" when the IFD asked whether it should turn on the radios, and had the same problem. The panel Wifi icon on the IFD is green. I didn't make any configuration changes to the unit on the ground or in flight. What's the next thing I should check?

Try connecting the IFD to the Stratus I network, then use FF to transfer a flight plan. If that doesn't work, call tech support.

Thanks, Steve-- I went ahead and emailed support yesterday with logs. Plane's supposed to go in for annual today so this would be the ideal time to troubleshoot it in case there's a hardware repair required.

Do you have both your Stratus and IFD running at the same time in your plane?

Nope. The Stratus is a backup in case I need it. It will sometimes display traffic targets that I don't see on the IFD so I will occasionally switch to it in crowded airspace, but I don't leave it running. I broke it out and used it yesterday after the IFD wifi stopped and it worked fine.

Support reviewed the logs and, basically, shrugged-- there are no errors in the logs that point to an obvious cause. I'll try again when I fly the plane up to annual and see what happens.

Partner flew the plane DCU-FYM-BGF yesterday and the wifi worked from startup to shutdown. SMH.

I need to be clear here-- I got a call from support first thing Monday morning after reporting the problem Sunday, and they are taking good care of me. When I say they "shrugged", it was that puzzled-I-don't-know-WTF-is-wrong shrug, not a "you're on your own" shrug.

On a flight yesterday, third flight of the day using foreflight and a stratus2s I got a message on foreflight saying IFD disconnected. I've never seen this before and wifi symbol on the IFD was green. Didn't have time to try downloading a flight plan to see if it was real. perhaps Foreflight has some newly minted bug?
