I/we were told that I would be contacted by Avidyne and given the opportunity to opt out of the Aeroplan. I have not been contacted ? I do love the 540 but I would like to get this taken care of.
Also, wasn't there supposed to be an announcement at Oshkosh regarding partners like "Foreflight and Stratus" ? Today I played with that combo for the first time (borrowed a Stratus) and I see no reason that the 540 couldn't talk with another Stratus type device. I have been dragging my feet on buying a Stratus in hopes that this was coming. Thanks, Tony Edited by Bad1996 - 10 Aug 2015 at 12:02am |

We sent out communications to all AeroPlan customers a few months back about opt'ing out of AeroPlan if they felt the need to. If you haven't had a warranty claim, you are still able to opt out. Please email techsupport@avidyne.com with a written request to opt out of the warranty. There was an announcement regarding out SDK (software developer kit). This allows ANY app developer access to our wireless stream coming out of the IFD's. There was much interest in this program from developers. I would ask which ever app provider you use if they plan to participate in the SDK.

We are working on the STC for sending data "TO" the IFD. Paralleling this, we are working with our Tier 2 developers that have expressed interest in sending data to the IFD's.

So, Simpson, I read that to mean that a data stream out is enabled now from the 540, but that there are no apps which can use it?

No, the data isn't accessible yet. The STC we are actively working on will enable the IFD's WiFi capabilities.
