I get a 429 signal error on boot up on the IFD440 on boot using the connection to a Garmin GTX345 for ADS-B in for WX and traffic. I have the Avidyne sheet and have it per the single interface setup but not having much success getting any of this to the IFD's screen. The wiring is right per the schematic and I suspect that I have the speed setting wrong but as there isn't a listing of baud rates and I am guessing.
Somebody has surely ran into this before and has a sure list of settings an I can cut to the chase. Any advice on this would be helpful as I would love to have this on the ipad in flight. Thanks in advance. Bob

A429 input to the 440 from the 345 is for Traffic only!
Weather comes out on the RS422 output from the 345 and goes into a RS232 input on the 440. BTW, once that RS232 input is chosen, Capstone HS WX, the output cannot be used for any other format. The settings for A429 are: 440: Speed = High, Format = GDL 88 Traffic 345: Format = Traffic Is this a new install or a 430 upgrade? If a new install AND the format settings are correct on both the 440 and the 345, then the A429 A & B signals are swapped. Edited by eallevato - 08 May 2023 at 1:45pm |

Thanks! Its a new install. I will look for the swapped settings as I didn't think of that.

Can you confirm that even with the 422->232 connection from the GTX to the IFD, traffic displayed on the IFD is still “basic”, i.e. no vector lines or flight IDs? Id read elsewhere that if you get traffic over the 232 port, the traffic displayed is “enhanced” with vector lines.
