I'm unable to enter various com frequencies on the sim. Is this a sim bug or also an issue with the real thing?
e.g. 120.350 autofills to 120.355 and exits the keyboard when I type the first 5 124.700 autofills to 124.705 when I type Enter after the 7. 118.975 gives an error msg when I enter the 7 - "please enter a valid COM frequency" and then forces the frequency to 118.990 |

We'll publish some enhanced explanation to this shortly after the new year. It's a very confusing issue in that there are "frequencies" in 25 KHz mode and "channels" in 8.33 KHz mode. In every case, the system is actually channelizing the proper frequency or channel but the display can be confusing.
Anyway, more on this after the new year. |

Now you've got me curious.
Whether channel or frequency, the display should reflect the published value, otherwise if I get no response I'll never know if it is a real transmission/communication issue or just because I have the wrong value selected, especially since there is no ID. In this specific case, the "channels" I'm trying to select are LSZK airfied INFO freq (120.350), Zurich Information (124.700) which is Flight Information Service, and Dubendorf LSMD TWR (118.975). Dubendorf is active HX, so if there is no reply I need to be certain that I'm broadcasting on the right freq and can enter the D airspace without a clearance.
On my G430 this is a non-issue.... I just dial up the published value. |

Any additional explanation available yet?
Is your reference to 8.33kHz tuning improvements in 10.0.3.0 (FAQ Q92) also related to this somehow?

Sorry. Been way too busy with Rel 10.0.3.0 end-game and getting Rel 10.1.0.0 ready for test. Still haven't got to this.

Hi Steve
Would appreciate an update. It seems that when I set the IFD to 8.33KHz spacing I can not select the regular 25KHz spaced frequencies anymore. 8.33 frequencies are getting common for IFR in Europe and this is a right pain. Is this fixed in 10.0.3.0? |
