Hi - I just installed a brand new IFD550 on my SR22, which is working fine.

Strangely, the Wifi setup that I had working on an already installed IF440 (and crosssynced with the IF550) stopped working.

I can see and connect the IFD from my ipad, but the IFD100 app does not connect. On the IFD440, no request to allow or deny the ipad connection shows up.

If I try to connect the same ipad to the new IFD550, everything works fine and fast.

Lot's of possibilities.  Start by checking these things.
1. Make sure the IFD100 chassis ID matches the system ID on the 440.
2. Turn off the IFD550 WiFi.
3. Turn on the IFD440 WiFi.
4. Make sure the iPad is not "blocked" or "never" on the Setup page "devices" category.

1. Make sure the IFD100 chassis ID matches the system ID on the 440.
>>> Never heard about this configuration, will check

2. Turn off the IFD550 WiFi.
>>> done. no change.

3. Turn on the IFD440 WiFi.
>>> done. no change.

4. Make sure the iPad is not "blocked" or "never" on the Setup page "devices" category.
>>> this is the main symptom - the ipad wifi connects to the ifd440, BUT no message regarding it appears on the device tab.

Looks like you have a point here:

Hidden in the ipad IFD100 configuration (Settings->Apps->IFD100 10.3), I found the following options:

IFD Type
IFD Chassis ID #
Ipad ID #
WIFI ADS-B Support

Although I was using it with the IFD440 before installing the IFD550, it now shows the configuration for the new device. Will try to change this next time on the aircraft.

Hummm ... before the IFD550 installation, my IFD440 was device #1, now it got demoted to #2. Makes sense being unable to connect the IFD100 with the former configuration.
