OK, I need some help figuring out how to properly configure my equipment, so please use small words and crayons if any drawings are required.

I have an IFD540, a SkyTrax 100, and an AXP340. The airplane passes the FAA ACR data quality check.

I sometimes fly with a Stratus1 so I can have weather, traffic, etc. on the iPad I use with Foreflight.

Routinely I will see traffic that appears on the IFD but not on the iPad, or vice versa.

How do I fix this so I see the same set of targets on both devices?

Since Stratus and SkyTrax use different antennae, it's always possible that one will be receiving from a tower and the other is not.  No way to "guarantee" you'll see the same targets on two devices unless they're fed by the same receiver.

Additionally, the Stratus can receive direct (air-to-air) broadcasts from 1090ES-equipped planes, but the SkyTrax is only receiving on UAT (978MHz), so it's possible that you could be getting direct traffic reports from targets on FF that aren't available on the IFD.  (Not true for Stratus 1, as pointed out below.)

You can improve you chances by making sure your AXP340 is set to say that you're a UAT ADSB-in guy, so the towers will always broadcast to you on 978MHz.

The Stratus 1 is single band, 978.

The Stratus 2 is dual band.

He says he has a Stratus 1, so his TXP needs to tell the ground 978 in only, as you said.
