Since the release of R9.1 there have been three issues that have been reported and reproduced by Avidyne. Each one has been resolved and the fixes or improvements will be in Release 9.2. Please take a few minutes to review each one and the action to compensate for the issue.

1.   Range to Altitude (RTA) Arc missing – The RTA arc, which is displayed as a green arc over your flight plan to indicate when you will reach your altitude target, was inadvertently not in R9.1.  Use the vertical speed required (VSR) green diamond on the VSI for advising you on capturing altitudes entered into your flight plan.  This diamond shows you what vertical speed you need to meet to intercept the next altitude constraint in your flight plan.

2.   Direct-To guidance issue.  The scenario is as follows:
a.       Enter a direct-to waypoint #1 – active leg is created from present position to waypoint #1
b.      Fly off-course and then do a direct-to to the same waypoint #1 - draws a new active from your new present position to waypoint #1
c.       Lastly add another waypoint #2 directly after your direct-to waypoint #1.  – incorrectly draws the active leg from the original present position to waypoint #1, as in step a.  The FMS guidance will command the autopilot to fly to this incorrect leg.

Here is a real-life scenario:
Origin = KMLB
Press –D-> KTIX                -> all good
Fly –V-> 270 for 2 nm        -> all good
Press –D-> KTIX                -> all good
Add waypoint after KTIX    -> this is where it messes up by redrawing the line of the original –D-> to KTIX and not the second one.

The best way to not have guidance fly back to the original direct-to line is to press direct-to to your active waypoint #1 again after entering waypoint #2.  Another way is to sync your heading and then press Vectors (-V->) when adding a waypoint directly after the direct-to waypoint #1 so that your airplane will not change direction while you are editing your flight plan in this scenario.

3.   Map redraw slowdown – Due to the reloading of airway labels when doing Procedure Preview the map performance has degraded and could go black.  This issue is from an inefficient loading of the victor and jet airway labels.  To improve the map performance turn both the Victor and Jet airway labels ‘off’ on the SYS-Setup-Map Setup tab.  This has only occurred on the right IFD since that is where Proc Preview operates.

We apologize for the inconvenience that these issues may have caused.  I can assure you that we are working very hard to complete the DFC100/R9.2 and will deliver it as quickly as possible.
