I always fly into an aerodrome named SIAN, in Brazil.

To my knwoledge, it is a regular airport, registered with Jeppesen and with the Brazilian aeronautic administration, with all its data showing on Foreflight.

After enabling FLTA warnings on my IFD500, I now get constantly blared with terrain alerts while landing.

Also (I suspect the reason is the same), the IFD does not detect SIAN as a starting fix on my flight plan, using SBSC - a nearby airport, as the initial fix. I have to manually insert SIAN and delete SBSC.

Any hints of what is going on?

I don't see SIAN in the nav database.  So then FLTA will generate alerts when you try to land there.  The solution is to define SIAN as a user waypoint and then designate it as an airport.  The procedure is in the pilot's guide under the "WPT (USER WAYPOINTS) TAB" section.

Is that a private airport?  Jeppesen doesn't automatically include every private airport.  But if they have the data we can usually get them to add it.

Thanks for the return. Indeed - in the Brazilian AF/D it is marked as a private strip.

ForeFlight is aware of its existence as well, not sure if FF uses Jeppesen database for this (apparently not)

What is the procedure to make Jeppesen include it?

Kind regards,

For the record:

DESIGNATING A USER WAYPOINT AS AN AIRFIELD
To designate a user waypoint as an airfield, the waypoint must be manually named using the following format “AIRPORT XXXXXFT” where XXXX is the field’s elevation and note that the space is critical in naming the point.

I'll send a request to Jeppesen to have it included.  It usually takes a cycle or two.
