Is this likely to be an option?
I'd like to use my bluetooth (DUAL Xgps 170D) receiver to send weather and traffic to the IFD100 app on my Ipad Mini4. Bob

No. The IFD100 app can only get traffic/weather thru WiFi from the IFD, which can only get data from certified panel devices. * Orest

It would be theoretically possible, but as oskrypuch noted above, the IFD100's sole data source is the stream coming off of the panel device. Taking info from anywhere else would certainly be a certification/approval problem, as you guessed.
