Just a question. was the fix located on a navaid, or was it located at a position such as a radial-dme position?

As pure coincidence, I noticed last week that the To/From doesn't flip for me either crossing the holding fix, but I'm running a GI-106 analog CDI.

When manually flying a hold that I have entered into the IFD540 flight plan, the to/from indicator on the Aspen E5 does not flip when I cross over the fix, so I have to watch the distance data field on the Avidyne IFD go down to zero to know when I have reached the fix. I have observed an Aspen E5 integration with a Garmin navigator where the to/from indicator does flip as expected. Why does the Aspen E5 to/from indicator not flip in my Avidyne IFD integration with the Aspen E5? The IFD seems to be telling the Aspen that it is always heading towards the fix. I checked the "Main ARINC 429 Config" on the IFD and it shows the output format as "GAMA 429".
