does anyone know if putting the alt setting in the AUX calculator page is sufficient baro input for VSR and enroute VNAV system?

looks like for enroute vnav to work requires a baro corrected altitude from the rs232 or arinc 429 air data computer source. oddly the IFD100 SVS page allows baro input directly and instantly generates an altitude ribbon on the right side of the page. this does not feed back to the panel mount IFD550 however. the IFD550 does not have the airspeed and altitude ribbons but the IFD100 does.
