   Our avionics shop (Brant Aero, CYFD) has outfitted a Cessna 310 with just about every gadget imaginable, and two of each kind. Kind of a Noah's Ark of avionics. Uses it to become familiar with the instruments and to demo to customers. The aircraft is maintained as bare aluminium, they call it the Silver Bullet.
Well this week, he got his demo IFD540 (v10.01) in. And sure enough, just like advertised, they pulled a 530 out and slid the 540 in, about a hour later all the software settings were repopulated. They are keen to start selling it.

They put it on the power cart for me, and I had another look at an installed 540 and played with it for a bit. It sure is a nice unit. Mine is a little more than a month away.
