My airplane recently went under the knife to replace the entire panel. Part of the install was and IFD 540, Garmin GNC255A, and a PS Engineering PMA450.
I have been trouble shooting a problem that I have narrowed down to the IFD 540. My airport is uncontrolled and activation of the pilot controlled lighting is by the standard 5 clicks on the CTAF frequency. The IFD is on Comm 1 and it will not activate the pilot controlled lighting. If I switch to the Garmin GNC255A on Comm 2, I am able to turn the lights on. Using a hand mic on the IFD has no affect either. That would seem to me to take the PTT and audio panel out of the equation. It was suggested that it may be an issue with the 8.33khz spacing but my unit is set on 25khz. Any ideas? |

Thanks a bunch. I thought that I did a pretty good search to find any threads pertaining this issue. Apparently not. Sorry for posting out of the thread. I didn't try slowing the click speed down. I will give it a try. Hope to see a fix down the road.
