AMX240 MON function does not work to monitor the standby frequency. Also does not work with 540 standby which is also in the panel. Does anyone with a 550 or 540 have this function working?

Yes, MON has worked flawlessly for years with my IFD540 and AXP240.

The first item I would check is the Standby Com volume level on the AUX - AUDIO tab. Also, keep in mind that MON only monitors the first standby com regardless of how many standby coms you have displayed and regardless of which standby com is highlighted for swapping with the active com.

Did it ever work? It was wired in, right?

system has been in the aircraft for a few years and I tried the Mon function for the first time a week ago. I have only one standby freq displayed. I will check the volume level for the standby com. I didn't realize there was a control for the standby volume. Is there specific wiring needed for this to work?

Yes, there is specific wiring. You need to run a wire pair from the IFD COM standby OUT, to a switched input on your audio panel.

If that was not done at install, then it obviously won't work. Of course, it can be added, say next time they are behind the panel.

I checked th ifds today and the volume setting for the standby freq's is in the mid range. As Orest suggests the wiring must not have been done at install. I will need to discuss this with my avionics shop.
