I find the British woman yelling that there is airspace ahead to be very annoying. Is there a way to select an American voice, male or female, and to change the rate/frequency at which she is warning me? Once would be good, twice at the most.

There is no selection for voice. Could it be that you're getting alerts for more than one airspace? You can see the active alert(s) by going to the AUX-Alerts page. You can always turn the airspace alerts off using the setup page. Also, be sure to clear the airspace alert message(s) using the CLR key - that should shut her up after one message - at least until there's another airspace for her to tell you about.

Avidyne must be doing something right if our biggest gripe is the voice of the alerts!
