Avidyne is raising expectations that Entegra replacements are coming.  I received the following excerpt from a company email today:

I heard through the grapevine that Avidyne will have an announcement concerning Entegra coming up at Osh Kosh  next month.

Try to make it, and if you can't touch base with me mid August so I can brief you

If you have questions or require additional RMA assistance, please contact me.

My avionics shop started receiving less specific, but similar hints from Avidyne customer support a few weeks ago.

FWIW!

Are you talking about the OEM panels for Cirrus planes? Isn't the R9 system the upgrade for the 8.x Integra panels?

Orest, R9.3 was the upgrade from Entegra in Cirrus and as a stand alone installation in the Piper Saratoga by STC held by Nexair in MA.  It is an awesome platform and one that rivals the Cirrus Perspective, however, it appears development has not continued since R9.3 and lacks some integration with ADSB, and of course requires existing STEC servos if the DFC100 autopilot is installed.

It has long been rumored that Avidyne would produce a “plug and play” or near plug and play replacement for the aging Entegra platform based in part on the IFD series technology.  It appears they are getting closer to providing clarity on the next steps available for these users.

This platform will provide Avidyne challenges to manage with once again having to provide interoperability with both Garmin and Avidyne navigators, so the level of integration will be interesting to see.
