Hi, I have a TAS-600 installed in a single engined aircraft (new in 2003) which displays onto a GNS430W.  Worked fine up until last year when it stopped finding targets and displays a message 'No Traffic Data'.
My avionics shop says it needs to go to Avidyne for repair and the cost will be upwards of $3,500 which seems excessive.  Doing a bit of research I now find that some units were upgraded to a -A version, but this one hasn't been.  I could replace it with another system, like the AT-1, for less cost.  What do I do???

send it in to Avidyne for the -A upgrade.
