Hi … I just updated my IFD540 with 2404 navdata and obstacles. On reboot (and subsequent bootups) I am not receiving a splash screen(s) and it is going straight to the fuel management page. This is great , I’ve never been a fan of having to enter over the disclaimer page, I’m just concerned something isn’t right. I haven’t had a chance to go fly to test it and thought I’d see if anyone else has experienced this before? I tried tech support but they didn’t answer. I am running 10.2 and I can goto sys pages and verify that Navdata and obstacles are dated correctly for 2404
Thx

If your databases are current, then the splash screen telling you that they are out of date will not appear. But the normal page saying "By pressing ENTR..." should still appear.  So if you power everything down and restart the IFD, you don't get that page?

It's been a while since I've looked at a 10.2 box, but I don't remember any difference in that respect.  We did change it so that you don't have to answer the green dialog about WiFi/BT, but I don't remember changing the behavior of that initial screen.

Another thought... If the IFD thinks that the aircraft is airborne, then the splash screen will not appear.  The event log will likely contain some messages saying why the splash screen was skipped, so you might look at those as well.  If you need help with that, just email the event log to me.

Thanks Steve. I’m not complaining about missing the splash pages I just was worried it wouldn’t work in some capacity. Databases ARENT current (2404 starts in three days) and it also is missing the disclaimer hit enter page. I’ll take it for a test flight later this week just to verify everything. Thanks again

I have a 540 and 440 combo. I would say that the majority of the time after database updates the 540 always displays the splash screen and Confirm/Enter required taps, but the 440 boots straight to the flight plan page.

I have no idea whether this happens following an update that will take affect in the future or is current, but I am happy the 440 does this and hope it doesn’t change, not having to go through the confirmations and enters twice.

Both the 540 and 440 have always performed flawlessly on the ground and airborne following these initialisations.

The 540 is looking for charts.
There is a setting where you can disable this.

"There is a setting where you can disable this."

Where is that setting located, I would love to turn that off, since I use Seattle Avionics for my charts.

Thanks, in advance for the location reply.

It's in Maintenance Mode.

1) Go to Config tab
2) Using right outer knob, go to Main System Config page
3) Set "Charts" to "Disabled"
