Hi there, Should I be getting VNAV from my IFD550? I have an SR22 G2 (Entegra PFD and MFD) with an IFD550 cross-synced with an IFD440 and an STEC55X autopilot. After configuring altitude targets on my active flight plan, I was expecting the TOD to get transmitted to the PFD altitude bug, and the STEC act accordingly, but nothing happens. Am I missing something? is this something that depends on any IFD configuration or wiring between the IFD's and the rest of the stack?

Assuming you have 10.3 software, enroute VNAV is being generated by your 550. But at this point only a couple of PFDs will use it - for instance a G5. ------------- Steve Lindsley Avidyne Engineering |

Following up on this: 1) does this mean that the Entegra PFD isn' t capable of receiving/processing this information? 2) checking out the IFD pilot manual, I found this: ALLOWING ENROUTE VNAV The following conditions must be satisfied in order for enroute VNAV to be allowed: •Enroute VNAV is enabled by the installer Checking out the IFD installation manual, I found this: >>> Are these configurations related? should I turn them on? VNAV - Enable Labels ARINC 429 labels associated with GPS-based vertical guidance (labels 117G and 327G) are transmitted in the output data stream. ARINC 429 vertical: Sandel SN3500 Aspen EFD1000 Other systems may also use these labels. Enroute VNAV - Enable Default setting. Enables the “VNAV” function in the FMS to provide linear vertical deviations in descent during enroute and terminal navigation modes. Requires a baro-corrected altitude input. This option should only be enabled if the aircraft is properly equipped (see AFMS). Msg 126 Vertical Deviation and Msg 322 Flight Path Angle are transmitted on GPS ARINC Output see Table 65 NOTE: VNAV integration to primary instruments or flight control systems requires separate approval if not specifically identified in this document |

That is correct. The Entegra PFD does not listen for the enroute VNAV labels.
I recommend that you leave your settings as they are since it doesn't sound to me like your airplane is going to support enroute VNAV with the current equipment. ------------- Steve Lindsley Avidyne Engineering |
