New to posting on here. But have been reading much for the last year and enjoy all the brilliance that is on this community .... years of intelligence and experience. Thanks for that !!!!

Now it is time for my question and hopefully an answer !!!

I have a 540-440 combo coming, and a garmin 327 transponder already installed

Am thinking of getting the free flight ranger with the wireless option for the iPad

that will satisfy the ADS b IN/out.

Does anyone have any experience with the 540 install with the free flight ranger

and will it work for traffic and weather, and be displayed on the 540 - 440 screen

From what I have gathered in my limited knowledge is that both systems work with the Capstone hardware, and would be compatible together ... but want to make sure before i drop the bones on the free flight system.

Welcome Don. I would personally hold off if I were you. We know the MLB100 will work in that role but despite the support of Capstone Protocol, I don't have high confidence in the FreeFlight Rangr working as hoped. Look for the MLB100 Forum for more info or I can put one of our sales guys in touch if you like for more details.
