Can the banana get its target altitude from the altitude pre-select in an Aspen PFD? Do you have to have a crossing (target) altitude programmed into your flight plan in order to see a banana? Thanks Mike Edited by mfb - 07 Jul 2018 at 8:43am |

Yes, the altitude target that drives the banana is the next altitude constraint on or after the active leg. In R9, we would use the preselect altitude to drive the banana. When we converted R9 to the IFD series, we didn't have reliable access to an altitude preselect so we took out the banana. When we put it back in for the IFDs, we based it instead on the next altitude constraint on or after the active leg.

which WiFi encryption protocol does the ifd440 WiFi use? WPA, WEP, or WPA2, other??? I believe this is going to be one of the final puzzle pieces to getting the ifd440 to connect wirelessly to a third party app on a Droid device such as Flight Plan GO. I get the ifd440 to connect for about the first 25 seconds then the Flight Plan GO app does not receive further updates from the ifd440.

I went back to re-read the networking setup and that link seems to have been removed. Can it be reposted <<<
I realize that none of this
helps you get documentation regarding the network setup. Frankly, it's
silly that the documentation is currently in the IM but the IM is not
readily available. We plan to address the whole situation in 10.3.
Specifically, we plan to make the network setup easier and more robust
and also put the documentation in the PG. In the meantime, here is a
section of some documentation that provides networking setup
instructions. NetworkingSetup.pdf>>>>Edited by teeth6 - 12 Aug 2018 at 10:17am |
